Review of The Patriot (2000) by Starr B — 25 Sep 2014
The Patriot took a step back in in time during The American Revolution. A farmer , Benjamin Martin, (Mel Gibson) fought in the French-Indian wars. But since the death of his wife, he cut the violence to take care of his 7 children.
His older son, Gabriel, joins to fight against the British. When Gabriel returns , he was captured by the British. Martin's middle son was killed by Col. Tavington . The murder began war. Martin fought next to his son.
At the end, the British finally surrendered. I like when he kills the 20 soldiers (The Ghosts), the freed slaves at the end and when the youngest daughter talked to him for the first time. I didn't like when Gabriel died, Gabriel's wife and the middle son dies.
I learned a lot from the film. I learned that slaves had a chance to fight in the war. Would I recommend it to a friend? Yes, I would because the movie is beneficial to your learning.
