Review of The Passion of the Christ (2004) by Marc R — 16 May 2013
The production values are first rate, but what little I got from Gibson's vision is neither illuminating nor very interesting, and at worse, dangerously misguided. Ultimately anything he is trying to say is drowned out by the ridiculously graphic and sustained sequences of violence.
This is one of the cruelest movies ever made.
