The Passion of the Christ is a great film. The film is well directed and acted. One experiences Jesus' betrayal by Judas and the crucifixion. The Passion of the Christ is done in a brutally realistic fashion of Roman times.
One experiences what corporal punishment and execution was like in Roman time. One experiences the sacrifice Jesus made. One of the best characters was Pilate. The viewer experiences the duress Pilate was under with his judicial responsibilities.
This depiction is accurate, but has some adaptation of what was going on in the mind of the individuals with Christ crucifixion. To create authenticity the movie is sub-titled and uses the languages of the time.
The Passion of the Christ is not for the weak stomach the film is very violent. I believe the Passion tried to be authentic, which makes it great film. A five star movie.
