It may not be the best Jesus Christ movie, but it was the most graphical and bravest among others. The aesthetic, and most of the time disturbing, atmosphere that Mel Gibson brought to his audience was quite relentlessly chilling, yet might have been difficult to sit through.
It was, I think, a good film. But that's me.
