Mel Gibson's Passion of the Christ might be controversial for its graphic retelling of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ as well as its antisemitism. But nonetheless, it's at least bold in its attempt to reach for the hearts of the believers and nonbelievers, which are solidified by some strong performances and marvelous cinematography and set designs.
