If you find this as religious symbolism, that's great, but as far as a FILM goes, The Passion is just a gory snuff film with too many Anti-Semitic overtones. In fact, it doesn't even focus on Jesus' teachings, instead it's conveys the idea that Mel Gibson has an incredible torture fetish.
