Review of The Parallax View (1974) by Mark S — 11 Dec 2007
The Parallax View is all about style over substance. Director Alan J. Paluka does a great job of providing a confusing, conspiratorial atmosphere throughout the film, and some of the cinematography is great, but in-between the fights, car-chases and memorable visuals, there really isn't much of a plot.
Warren Beatty does a good job of looking suitably frazzled yet defiant, and he is backed up by a strong supporting cast - although in truth they are not given much to do. Very much of its time, but worth seeing for exactly that point.
