Visually rich but otherwise unfocused. I wish the writer/director picked a direction and truly developed the movie. It could have been amazing journalistic feat story, or twisted love story, or coming of age story, or racial tension story.
It tried to be everything to everybody and it fell on its face. It didn't fall flat though - I still enjoyed its frayed and clumsily woven strands of Southern Gothic.
