The cast is excellent and the cinematography was superb. Such a great feeling of films from the late 60's and early 70's. So good to see Cusack in a completely different role and Macy Gray was perfect in her part. As usual McConaughey & Kidman were equally excellent. Also good to see Efron out there in different types of films, he has a good natured style about him. This dark southern gothic may have been a bit uncomfortable at times but it was meant to be and gave a gritty feeling overall.
This is not a common camp type of film but a well executed seedy drama that gives an encompassing feeling of the time.
