Review of The Paperboy (2012) by Nacho S — 25 Jul 2013
This movie was bizarre and the story, although on the surface simple, never really spends too much time developing some of the more important points of the plot. I was left wondering how the Times article actually won Van Wetter's freedom for surely an article alone would not have so quickly.
Why was Charlotte obsessed with convicts - was she abused growing up or have a father that was a convict and searching for a father figure or both? Even Ward's S and M homosexuality thing just seems thrown in there for the sake of throwing it in there.
..the movie seems to go in a bunch of different directions, occasionally even doing so at the same time...not a dull movie, but not a good one either.
