Review of The Paperboy (2012) by Logan M — 02 Mar 2014
Bit of a mess, and I'm guessing that it doesn't do the source novel justice. But it's all very enjoyable and Kidman's best performance for ten years.
All the Southern-fried gothic melodrama cliches are in place, including the compulsory McConaughey representation. It is very humid!
Macy Gray is very good, and I would have liked to see more of that particular sub-plot. In many ways worth seeing for the jellyfish and mutual masturbation scenes. They have to be seen to be believed.
