Review of The Paperboy (2012) by Kevin R — 26 May 2013
Could you please knock? I could have been jerking off in here.
Jack and Ward are brothers of divorced parents in the late 60s. Ward is an author and he returns to his hometown and Jack to investigate a man who appears to be wrongfully jailed for murder. He arrives in town about the same time the imprisoned man's "true love." The eccentric woman provides Ward with evidence in the jailed man's favor. Jack, the younger brother, falls in love with the woman. A strange series of events ensue as they try to rescue the imprisoned man.
"He never did get over his one true love.".
Lee Daniels, director of Shadowboxer, Precious, and the upcoming The Butler and Janis Joplin pictures, delivers The Paperboy. The storyline for this picture is awesome and contains fascinating characters and a very good script. The acting is off the charts good and the cast includes Zac Efron, John Cusask, Nicole Kidman, Matthew McConaughey, and David Oyelowo.
"I'm gonna blow a friendship over a stupid little blow-job?".
I was very excited to see this movie when I first heard about it since it contained a fairly impressive cast. This movie is excellent and unfolds wonderfully. The story is so interesting and there are so many entertaining subplots and characters. This is a must see movie that is definitely worth having in your DVD collection. I would say this makes my top 5 films of 2012 list.
"If anyone is gonna piss on him...it's gonna be me!".
Grade: A+.
