Review of The Panic in Needle Park (1971) by Paul D — 04 Jan 2008
One of the first attractive junkies in love movies, which wanted to be really gritty and in-your-face with its documentary depiction of the drug addict lifestyle. Al Pacino is young and loose, but Kitty Winn is more than his match in her underplaying.
It gets stuck in the repetitive structure of these types of films with a continued degradation of its characters with a slight glimmer of hope before more degradation. However, it does have a great final scene.
