Review of The Oxford Murders (2008) by Brad G — 10 Nov 2010
An engrossing murder mystery with a couple performances even more intriguing than its plot, John Hurt and Elijah Wood make this movie as they bicker back in forth over who is smarter all the while trying to solve a series of murders around Oxford University.
Honestly, Hurt hasn't been this entertaining since his revolting cameo in the Australian western The Proposition. Like a lot of mysteries, the answers are not as interesting as the questions or the route the characters take to get them.
But if you're at all a fan of John Hurt, though, The Oxford Murders is a must. VF.
