Review of The Oxford Murders (2008) by Joe M — 20 Mar 2011
When I started watching this movie, I was convinced that people didn't like it because it had a strong dose of Wittgenstein in it, and Wittgenstein is not what one would consider a marquee subject matter for a motion picture. But I love Wittgenstein, so I was pretty thrilled to see what the movie had cooked up.
Boy was I disappointed. This movie wasn't beaten down by critics because it tackled one of the most difficult thinkers of our age. It was beaten down because it sucked.
Most CSI episodes are better than this movie, and CSI stopped trying about five years ago.
Avoid.
But read Wittgenstein! Or, uh, summaries of Wittgenstein.
