The tale itself is an interesting depiction of mob mentality in the old west, but save the acting of Henry Fonda the others in the film fall short in a melodramatic and choppy manner. Fondaâ??s performance is solid in one of his earliest roles and proves to be a foreshadowing of perhaps his greatest performance in 12 Angry Men.
