Review of The Overnight (2015) by John H — 08 Sep 2015
It is another Hollywood ploy to convince us that drugs are cool and people who eschew them are uptight, anal losers. But I always think about the 200,000 Mexicans murdered by cartels because Americans love drugs.
I also have contempt for people in any script that are willing to throw away all of their values when confronted by a lovable, audacious con man who exploits the insecurity of others to mask his own. He must get you to indulge what he loves so he does not feel alone, ineffectual and worthless.
Some call it being sociable. I call it being anti-social. People should be respected for their values and beliefs unless they harm others. Who enjoys being around someone on a mission to change us?
