As long as you know what you're getting into before you watch this movie, "The Overnight" can be a fun comedy that delves into the aspect of marriage and sex, and in the end will leave its audiences uncomfortable, yet satisfied.

The movie starts out by introducing us to the characters of Alex and Emily (played by Adam Scott and Taylor Schilling), who have just moved to Los Angeles. They move into a new neighborhood, and they run into an interesting couple (played by Jason Schwartzman and Judith Godreche). They all decide to get together for what seems to be an innocent pizza night, but the minute Alex and Emily walk into this new house, things take a 180 degree turn.

To start out, this movie is very interesting. There's not much I can say without really spoiling the plot or message of this movie, and since the trailer didn't really give away anything, I will do the courtesy of doing the same. Overall, I actually had some fun in this movie, and I was definitely very interested in this movie. The screenplay was actually written well, and this movie wasn't neccesarily as raunchy as I thought it would be. Everything actually had a bit more meaning to it, and that's definitely an aspect that I appreciate of this movie.

Although I wasn't blown away by the characters or anything, the actors behind them are very good. All the talent in this movie were great in their roles, and they definitely made the movie for me. They all put up strong performances, and they all had memorable moments.

This movie isn't extremely funny or anything, but it does its job well. Its purpose is to make its audiences feel uncomfortable, and it has some smart and purposeful humor. Everything in this movie was meant to relay a realistic situation, and I was actually very impressed.

This movie really has a bit of deeper meaning behind it, which is nice. It shows us the realistic conflict in marriage, and actually hits the topic of male insecurities. It talks more about the realities of sex, and how no matter how good a relationship may be, the human mind is always curious to experimentation.

In the end, "The Overnight" was actually pretty decent. It was a fun sex comedy that delves deeper into sex and marriage, and actually provides some solid entertainment. Because of that, I will give this movie a fresh rating.
