Review of The Outsiders (1983) by Carolyn G — 03 Dec 2009

I never understood the critical flack given to this movie. Sure, it is stylized. Sometimes even to cheesy effect; however, I loved it then and it is a movie I reach for time and again over the years. It is a story (both in book and movie form) that I will share with my daughter.

This stellar cast of up & comers really made the film, as they were all as I imagined them in the book, especially the scared & timid Johnny Cade (as played by Ralph Macchio).
