Review of The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976) by Avery O — 12 May 2008
Though not in the same league as "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly", this movie is still a solid western that surpasses Eastwood's usual spaghetti fare. It contains all of the prototypical western ideals: rebel fighting against a corrupt establishment, defender of the innocent, and world-weary veteran looking for a home, but also has the notable distinction of inlcuding Native Americans among the good guys.
Anyone familiar with westerns will not marvel at this film, but it is still a fun ride while it lasts.
