Really liked this film. it breaks all the rules of traditional Hollywood western narratives and does so very well. the film is beautifully shot and there are some sequences with incredible lighting schemes.
Eastwood gives his usual performance and the sound design is great. It is the character of Wales though that really makes this such a great film. You want him to succeed so much yet feel he is doomed.
I guess credit for that goes to Eastwood for such a good performance. How has he never won an Oscar for acting?
