Eastwood's "Unforgiven" is a masterpiece, but so is this and its more fun. It contains one of the greatest collection of characters in any western. I love the way Eastwood, as director, uses adaptations of folk tunes and hymns to mix with the story.
"The Outlaw Josey Wales" is not a cowboy movie. You could argue that it is a western super hero movie with the same amount of heart and character as "The Dark Knight".
