Review of The Outlaw (1943) by Alex B — 18 Jan 2010
A bizarre film, with a deranged sensibility/morality/psychology, a psychotic/psychopathic disjunction between personalities/characters and their behavior/actions. It features perverse yet dull sexuality, and a grotesque (mis)use of music.
For example, Jane Russell's body by itself should be more than enough to generate passion in any (heterosexual) man, yet this film resorts to Tchaikovsky's theme at every opportunity.
