Review of The Others (2001) by Monsieur R — 28 Aug 2010
The Others didn't get traction with me and I lost interest in it early. The film starts with a woman and 2 children in an english manor. She has just hired servants and takes great pains to lay down rules.. like weird ones... and demands they tour the mansion... only to find out this crew has worked for years in the mansion and was very happy then.
Well, this film tries to be weird and therefor scarry, but I just had to quit it for something else. I may return to it someday, especially since it recieved great reviews. Some movies you have to give a chance beyond the first minutes.
