Review of The Others (2001) by Alvin Y — 06 Nov 2011

This is not a great film, but still a very scary one though! It isn't what I call a masterpiece, because to me I predicted what would happen at the end, and still left me some more explanations to answer.

Anyways, Nicole Kidman is great here or should I say, I like her in this film than to her Oscar winning role in *Hours*, she is a loving mother and a wife that later on becomes paranoid for as you know "The Others".

And also, any male character here is totally absent meaning useless for any particular scene at all, mostly the ladies took the turn on any suspense that is getting build up here. I also think the direction is what I said earlier, predictable, when that twist comes around, and you think there's more, well that's what I mean, I wanted some more.

If you've seen this, just think of much better M. Night Shyamalan films like *Sixth Sense* and *Signs* that makes a lot sense on why there are *others*! So, this film is not a movie that I will put on the best horror films category, just really didn't impressed me at all!
