Review of The Orphanage (2007) by Shannon M — 02 Oct 2010
I honestly found this movie over-rated. It was rather enjoyable but in my opinion it was relatively average. The story had a great air of mystery, but it ran so slow that I quickly began to lose interest.
I didn't really connect with the characters, didn't really feel what they were going through or really care what happened to them. I thought the filming was well constructed, in that its use of colour and contrast along with simplistic filmography worked well with the films themes and tones.
It is the cinematography that is truly worth mentioning in this movie as to me it was the greatest thing about it.
