Seems to me that everyone involved in this film cared a lot about making a good film. I hate to say that the script just wasn't good enough, because there are some scenes that have some really good dialogue.
The acting was superb, which doesn't surprise me about Bridges and Timberlake, because they have proven their abilities in past movies. The pacing was slow, but I don't mind slow movies. There was just something missing and I believe it was a climax.
I would have put it in the fight scene. I was really hoping that the reason he wouldn't let him in was because his the girl was in there with him, but no dice. Think about it, wouldn't that have made for a better movie?
