It gets a 6 for the genre from me though I wouldn't want to be home alone while watching it again.not because it was too scary but because it was too boring.. I did however love the originality and the hot mom and all that.
as well as the way it pretty much ended in the part of the basement that was really the scariest part of the house if you ask me. I like the way that the guy was so sneaky and elderly woman so scary and the way the black guys death was extra creepy but the shivering kid was just overkill or annoying to shiver for that long and who would blindly walk around a creepy house instead of protecting your mom from dying? bit of a tip of the hat to the prisoners search party scene at the end there.
its almost like the guy was teaching the kid to be a better runner..
