The onion movie is a 90 minute parody of a compilation of fictional slapstick news reports. Onion's biggest problem is that it has all the potential to be funny, but it falls flat. the parodies lead you with anticipation to the skit's punchline, but once you get there, it's not near as funny as you were hoping.
this pattern follows throughout the film, and you eventually get the idea that every skit has that same disappointing quality. The Onion movie is essentially a feature length mediocre episode of SNL. although the movie certainly has it's moments, you're left with a stale onion breath aftertaste.
