Review of The One I Love (2014) by David L — 17 Jan 2015
I've always found the thought of watching a stage play to be rather limiting, with the confinement of space constraining the scope of the narrative and subsequently my interest. But it's films like The One I Love that show what talented artists can do within a confined location, relying solely on premise, plot and portrayal. Running like a perfect What Would You Do? episode of the Twilight Zone, this little gem relies on some fine acting by its two (and practically only) leads to draw you in, keep you captivated and then leave you wondering.
I still probably wouldn't be rushing out to see any stage plays anytime soon but would relish more films like this one.
