Pointless remake of the 1976 film which isn't as good and particularly lacks the distinction of Jerry Goldmith's original classic score ... however taken as a film in itself and as remakes go this is very professionally made and entertaining with Liev Schrieber, Julia Stiles, Mia Farrow, David Thewlis, Pete Postlethwaite and Michael Gambon all very capably filling the roles created by Gregory Peck, Lee Remick, Billie Whitelaw, David Warner, Patrick Troughton and Leo McKern.
