Review of The Omen (1976) by Tiuri E — 30 Jun 2011
This is the movie that made me into the crazy horror fan that I am today. It's very well-written and well acted, but unfortunately not that scary. There are some absolutely wonderful scenes, the decapitation one being my favorite, but didn't really like how it made very little sense.
A problem easily remedied by reading the novelization written by screenwriter David Seltzer. I really can't sing this films praises enough. This is the movie that told horror fans that they too can add a bit more sophistication to their genre of choice and the film can still be undeniably creepy.
