Review of The Omega Man (1971) by Terry C — 11 Jan 2008
Heston's over the top acting and the preachy, aged message of this movie are testaments to their period as well as prototypes of the chestbeating "thinking" movies of the 80s, 90s and 100s.
Simple yet complex, smart yet stupid, this is the movie of survivalists and movers. Thinkers and film snobs need not apply. Also, like all movies based on Matheson's I Am Legend, feel free to turn it off after he encounters other people.
