Review of The Omega Man (1971) by Nicholas D — 16 Feb 2008
This movie is terrible. It can't even stand up to the Vincent Price version of the story, the Last Man on Earth. The acting is horrible. The "family" is a terrible idea. The score is completely inappropriate and never fits what's going on.
I Am Legend isn't the perfect movie, but it certainly blows this one out of the water with ease. It's obvious, however, that the recent movie borrowed more from this movie than either the book or the Vincent Price movie. For those few original ideas, it gets two stars.
