Review of The Omega Man (1971) by Jamie C — 20 May 2008
I haven't read the book. In comparing it to Will Smith's I Am Legend, the latter is much more entertaining and made more sense to me. This movie was very cheesy, almost laughable. The dialogues and Charlton Heston's full of himself acting didn't help me take the movie seriously.
The story was told in a very shallow manner. I didn't feel any connection to the characters. However, I like the fact that the nocturnal people spoke and we got a sense of the story from their point of view unlike the I am Legend.
Overall, it was interesting and fun to see how the two movies compared.
