Review of The Offence (1973) by Gordon M — 24 Jan 2008
James Bond is dull and camp. To see the real Sean Connery, the truly great actor, you need to see Sidney Lumet's 1972 police drama, "The Offense".
A series of child rape attacks has been occurring in an unnamed English town and when a suspect is brought in, Detective Sergeant Johnson interrogates him off the record, but Johnson loses control. It's a searing, highly disturbing and relentless film with all main actors giving the performances of their lives.
I urge you to watch this film, as it will radically change your view of Connery, regardless of how you previously had thought of him.
