Review of The Offence (1973) by Lordbishop34 — 01 Dec 2008
While I agree with Mr. Rohrbaugh that The Hill is one of Connery's best, I don't think The Untouchables is number 2, but let me get back to you.
This is one of the most underrated, unknown movies I have ever seen in my life. The characters are so multi-dimensional, interesting, real, and the story, while basic is captivating. I like that there is a slight sense of ambiguity as to who actually committed the offence. That debate is for another day. The debate of whether this movie is worth watching ends now. Yes - its worth watching.
Apparently it's on DVD now (according to an imdb poster). Hmm... I'm just sorry I watched it on a very long car ride.
Good work. Definitely one of Connery's best performances.
