Review of The Nun (2018) by Marisol R — 13 Sep 2018
Much like the original Conjuring, this is what happens when you gather talent from every sector of film production, and spit on it with a laughable script and screenplay. There were genuinely a couple of parts that unnerved me in it. But ultimately what scared me the most was the still ongoing circle jerk that the Conjuring seasons Catholicism with.
My favorite detail in the movie was that the side of the holy is so incredibly under-powered compared to the demon. I mean, it took almost nothing for someone to bring it into this world, and it takes everything short of Dwayne Johnson coming in with a lightsabre to stop it.
My favorite PART in the movie was when The Nun slowly rises up out of the water like a frog and gives the dumbest shit-eating smile to the main character. I will take this opportunity to apologize to my fellow movie goers, as my friend and I had quite a bit of trouble restraining our laughter during this.
Overall, wasn't even close to the worst I've seen. At least I can see an attempt being made here. Sadly, it lies in the middle ground where it isn't good enough to merit watching, but not bad enough to the point where you can actively make fun of it and it's poor decisions.
