Review of The Nun (2018) by George P — 23 Sep 2018
DISAPPIONTED!!! I had high hopes for this movie. The hype started a year ago, I had already watched The Conjuring 2 (a very good horror film) and I was really excited to learn about The Nun. Walking to the cinema yesterday my feelings were mixed.
I was right, this movie was painfully bad. I mean the acting was fine but I felt they overused CGI to the point that it looked totaly fake. The Conjuring 2 had a scarier atmosphere and the nun looked so much better.
In this movie though The nun looked bad and acted like Michael Myers, stalking everyone. I felt the movie had holes, did not really connect to the material. It relied on jumpscares that most failed to scare.
The only thing I liked about this movie is the ending and acting. The way The Nun tied to The Conjuring was real nice. The explained that the guy on tape was Frenchie from The Nun and that, is when Lorraine started having visions about the Nun.
Overall I give this movie 2/5 stars. Because I expected a lot but it delivered nothing to very little.
