Ooooohhhh...I've been waiting for this one for a while! I'm a fan of this Conjuring "universe." The original film and its sequel are legitimately unnerving while their spin-offs, although not quite of the same caliber, are consistently entertaining and, even better, entirely R-rated.

The presence of flaws is unquestionable, yet the sense of reliability established in persistently enjoyable connected horror flicks is thoroughly comforting. This "franchise" is commendable by being lovable, laughable, familiar yet authentic, faithfully disturbing, and all together devilishly immersive.

Regarding this newest entry, The Nun is not going to reinvent its genre or seduce audiences into any new, unseen corners of hell, but it can definitely be a good time. Bolstered by an incessantly gripping atmosphere, spectacular sets and imagery that recall classic horror films, and a fun cast led by a diligent Taissa Farmiga, let your senses do the talking here -- relax, mix some drinks, grab some grub, and have fun.
