Review of The Notebook (2004) by Matt B — 11 Jun 2015
Oh come on. How could you not enjoy The Notebook? Even the manliest man in the world can get teary-eyed at the end of the film.
Nick Cassavetes' film is schmaltzy and sentimental, we know (I mean, it's based off a Nicholas Sparks book....), but it's also beautiful, sexy, and deeply romantic. Think of this as an homage to the old Douglas Sirk melodramas of the 50s.
