People giving this movie low ratings are clueless. An old man who loves his wife for all eternity is trying to help her remember how they fell in love. You're seeing the movie from a notebook that they both wrote together.
I'm assuming it's because she at one point knew her mind was slipping. It even said so in the notebook. These critics think too much and need to go back to reading. I thought it was an awesome movie.
