Review of The Ninth Gate (1999) by Jack T — 04 Jul 2013
I'm surprised by the poor reviews. The Ninth gate is a fascinating walk in the dark introducing character after character as Corso unwinds an admittedly simple riddle carried in a trio of rare texts containing engravings by Lucifer himself.
Much of what this film accomplishes, it does by building suspense and characters. I recommend The Ninth Gate to fans Twin Peaks and those who can manage to stay 'in story' for a Kubrick film.
