Review of The Ninth Gate (1999) by Dustin G — 18 Oct 2011
Not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I loved the main storyline: Rare book dealer on a quest to find a rare book on the Occult, the closer he gets to the book, the more danger he seems to be in.
I dig that. It goes in some cheeseball directions here and there and while I was interested enough not to be bothered by the length, I'd be lying if I said it doesn't drag in parts. I didn't even really mind the over the top ending so much as one pointless scene towards the finale that features the most ridiculous sex scene I have ever seen in a movie, ever.
Also it presents questions it bother answering. Overall not a movie I'd watch again probably, but good enough for a couple hours of entertainment.
