Review of The Nines (2007) by Shantel D — 13 Aug 2008
Intelligent, Intriguing one of the best films I've seen all year and already one of my favourite movies of all time.
It's like Donnie Darko and The Truman Show mashed together in perfect harmony to created a very exciting and moving piece of movie making.
Ryan Reynolds proves that not everyone who has been in a teen movie is rigid and can't move on from the same old dreary characters and is awesome in his three carnations.
Elle Fanning was also very good and hopefully won't get the stick that her older sister has had over the years, a real gem!
Melissa McCarthy gave (like Ryan Reynolds) a perfect performance and it was clever how she played herself with factual events from her career placed in the movie.
Co-star Hope Davis completed the perfect combination.
This movie will be frequenting my DVD player for years to come.
