Review of The Nines (2007) by Derek H — 20 Nov 2010
Half assed execution leading to a boring story and constant head scratcher (in a very bad way, even when things get wrapped up in the end). I'm mostly pissed about the way this awesome concept was ruined by August's decision for the plot to dwell on stuff viewers do not care about when watching a psychological thriller.
I mean, you don't see litigation films spending more than half the running time focused on the lawyer protagonist pushing pen to paper or seeing the whole 30 minute drive to work in busy downtown wherever... movies unfortunately have a short running time... USE ALL OF IT to grab my attention and KEEP IT, damn it.
