Review of The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) by Tricia R — 13 May 2014
Lost points for involving more or less constant singing, especially as this is without any memorable tunes whatsoever. Creative in its style and character designs and I can even appreciate the intuitive idea of mixing themes of Halloween and Christmas into one animation.
Also, a few giggles crept up in the second half, showing that this was capable of being funny. However, it never really appealed to me from the first song and from then on only slight improvements were made.
I might be writing a different review had I grown up on this since it does strike as a 'James and the Giant Peach' type movie which is good for kids and could be conveniently shown in schools over the festive season.
For some reason, there was no space for this video in my school's budget and so I ended up watching it in my mature age. It seems to enjoy popularity so you may not take my word for it but it was highly unlikely to receive much praise from me seeing as it is made up of mediocre songs which seem to merge into one long drone.
Doubt it was what they meant from the title but it wasn't far off a nightmare for me.
