Review of The Night of the Hunter (1955) by Blind P — 15 Jun 2010
In a case of hype leading to disappointment, I will not claim this is a bad film or lacking in entertainment value.
Given the premise it progresses credibly enough, and Mitchum plays through a solid characterization with style.
I had hoped for much more though, as the story is fairly straight forward and predictable. The climax is somewhat strange, as our villain goes down easily to defeat.
