Review of The Night of the Hunter (1955) by Dave K — 30 Jun 2009
Meets the max rating if only for its visual sense. Some of it comes across understandably dated to the jaded modern viewer, but again, minor complaints. Especially compared to its strengths. An admirable and exemplary use of optical effects and sets to accomplish the visionary visual sense that the film stocks of the time likely would have been hard pressed if not utterly unable to capture otherwise.
