Review of The Night of the Hunter (1955) by Gordon S — 29 Jul 2010
The only movie directed by the great classic screen actor Charles Laughton (MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY as Captain Bly and the sound version of THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME as Quasimodo among his acting credits), it's one of the most beautifully shot thrillers in film history.
The camera is as expressive as the actors in exploring evil penetrating and shattering innocent childrens' lives.
